The Anonymous Santa program was started over 30 years ago in the small community of Almelund, Minnesota where two families were blessed by the generosity of Lin Strong and her children. Over the next three decades the program has grown geographically, reaching out to all of Chisago County and the Forest Lake School District; starting with two families and growing to 450 to 500 families with as many as 1,350 children.
Our “Christmas With Dignity” program offers parents that are not able to buy presents for their children, an opportunity to “shop” in a Holiday Store set up in United Methodist Church of North Branch. We distribute new, non-violent gifts totaling a $20.00 point value, mittens & hat, Christian books or video, board games, sports balls and stocking stuffers. Children from newborn to 18 (and in high school) are eligible for this program.
Organized and managed by an all-volunteer group, supported by donations from throughout the communities Anonymous Santa is the only holiday program of this type in the area.
